People take refresher lessons for different reasons. Those
who feel apprehensive about being in a car after a break
from driving, others may be worried by a particular type of
road such as busy junctions, motorways, dualcarriagesways
or country roads or even how to park you car.
Moving to a new area can mean encountering road
systems that you may not have seen before, such as
multi roundabouts or gyratory systems or you may want
to practise a new route to work through busy areas
Dual carriageways and motorways can worry drivers new
and old and it may be that you just need to have some
guidance to reassure you that you can cope with the
faster busier roads. You will learn the best way to enter
the dual carriageway or motorway, deal with the entrance
and exit slip roads and learn to read the road signs. You
will learn how to deal with the fast traffic passing from
behind you and how to safely overtake.
If you haven’t driven for some years it can help to have
someone guide you through new road layouts and help you
deal with today's busy roads. It may be that you have had
an accident and are nervous of getting back into a car. I
can help you regain your confidence with calm and relaxed
instruction and show you how to relax whilst driving. if
necessary, I can take control of the car using brakes,
clutch, gears and steering. If you need to we can stop and
take a rest and when you are ready we can carry on driving.
Before the start of your lesson we will talk over any points
that are of concern to you. You will be fully briefed as to
what you will be doing in the lesson, you may ask as many
questions as you like. The emphasis will be on
communication and feedback, All instructions and
information will be given in a calm and relaxed manner.
There is no need to rush when driving, I will guide you
through every situation until you feel confident enough to
make driving on your own a comfortable and rewarding time.
