You will go to a test centre which is convenient

On arrival at the centre you will be greeted by an
official who will take your name and check your
appointment time.
Your provisional driving licence will be checked
and then all personal belongings are put into a
locker for safe Keeping.
You are then taken to your individual computer
station where the process will be explained to you.
There will be an opportunity for you to have a
15 minute practise.
The multi question test will take approximately
57 minutes, which is then followed by the
hazard awareness test which lasts for 15 minutes.
You will be given the result of your test before you
leave.
Part one is a 50 question multiple-choice test. To
Pass you must answer 43 or more questions
correctly within the 57 minutes allowed.
During the test you will have the option to skip
Questions and return to them later.
There are a variety of books and software available

Part two is the hazard perception test. Immediately
after your theory test, you will watch a series of
19 one-minute video clips, each showing potential
hazards involving road conditions, pedestrians or

There are 19 hazards to identify and you can score
up to 5 points on each one, depending on how
quickly you identify them. You need to score 44 out of
75 to pass.
The Driving Test Is Taken In Two Modules
Module one the theory test
At the test centre
When you arrive for your test you will go to the
waiting room where your examiner will call your
name,

Before getting into your car the examiner will test
your eyesight and ask you the ‘show me tell me’

Once inside the car he will explain how the test

The practical test
In your practical test, you have approximately
40 minutes to demonstrate everything you have
learned in your driving lessons.
You need to show you can drive competently
and safely in all kinds of driving situations.
You will be asked to do two of the four reversing
manoeuvres you have practised with your
instructor, and possibly make an emergency stop.
To pass, you will have to complete the test with
no serious faults, and you must have 15 or fewer
minor errors.
When you arrive back at the test centre you
must drive forwards Into a parking bay where
the examiner will tell you the result of your test
and go through any driving faults with you.
